How soon after applying glyphosate weedkiller can I seed new grass or add new plants?

Glyphosate does not move once applied, so generally, it doesn't affect untreated plants, such as nearby flowers.
In soil, glyphosate usually breaks down within a few days so it becomes unavailable to plants that are planted later on.

We recommend to always leave from a few days, to two weeks after glyphosate application before planting more grass or plants. This is because glyphosate is absorbed through the leaves and progresses to the roots systemically.
  1. If you are planting edible plants, such as herbs and vegetables, we would recommend leaving it for at least a week.
  2. If sowing vulnerable grass or seeds, also leave it for at least a week.
Do not attempt to pull the weeds before treatment, if you disturb the weeds before they are dead you may risk breaking off live roots that could sprout again.
